The DreamBug library

A wall of books, not a wall of controls

Their shelf, your rules

Children see beautiful books. Parents control everything behind them.

Create a shelf for each child, choose their age range, hide individual books and enable optional collections. Purchases and settings stay behind a parent gate.

  • Choose the age bandsOnly appropriate books appear on that child's home screen.
  • Allow or hide any titleOne switch changes what the child can browse.
  • Favourites come firstThe books they love are waiting at the top.

Stories where more children belong

Adventures for different lives and difficult days

These are still stories first: exciting, funny, tender and full of agency. A parent decides when either collection appears on a child's shelf.

Everyone Belongs

Disabled heroes having real adventures

Wheelchairs, walkers and other aids belong naturally in the world. The character's body is part of them, never the problem the story needs to fix.

Stories for Hard Days

When something difficult has happened

Moving home, grief, a new baby, being left out or a frightening change can be easier to approach through a story that understands without lecturing.

A badger remembering a beloved dog beneath their tree
The Tree Where We PlayedRemembering a pet after goodbye
A young hare carrying a flower from her old home
Bly and the One Small SeedMoving somewhere new
A young rabbit having big feelings about the new baby
Fern and the New BabyLove and difficult feelings together

Extra care for sensitive stories. These books receive additional checks for framing, language, stereotypes and whether the child remains capable and respected.

A shelf that keeps growing

Three to six new stories planned every month

Enough novelty for children to keep exploring, without flooding the library with unfinished work. Every new book still has to meet the same release standard.

Notes from our first families

The moments that told us DreamBug could matter

These are early family-testing notes, not App Store ratings. Verified store reviews will replace this section after launch.

Early testing
“The first app my daughter asks for by name at bedtime. And the first one I don't feel weird about saying yes to.”
One of our first families
“The stories are actually good. Not app-good. Book-good.”

Questions parents ask

Does my child need the internet?

No. Every book is stored inside the app when you install it, so the whole library works with the device in airplane mode.

Can my child tap through to anything else?

No. There is no advertising, no browser, and no link that leads out of the app. The purchase screen and all settings sit behind a parent PIN.

What do you collect about my child?

Nothing. Profiles, reading progress and favourites are stored on the device and never sent anywhere. There are no accounts for children. See the privacy policy.

Who writes and draws the books?

They are made in-house. We use AI tools as part of writing and illustrating, then at least two people review every line and every picture before a book reaches the app. Books that do not meet the bar are revised or kept out of the library.

Can I decide what my child sees?

Yes. Each child gets a profile, and in the parents area you choose which age ranges, collections and individual titles appear on their shelf.
